Snowdon Mountain Railway doesn’t rule out the scrapping of steam locomotives

Following rumours that a number of out of use steam locomotives are to be scrapped by the Snowdon Mountain Railway, the railway has told Chime Whistle Publishing that this possibility has not been ruled out and that a plan regarding the future of these locomotives is currently being worked on.

A spokesman said: “At this time, no decision has been made regarding the future of these locomotives. They are currently in external storage while we evaluate the best course of action. Any claims about scrapping are premature, and we will ensure that any updates are communicated appropriately when a plan is finalised.”
